Camping Newsgoose Special!

Hi Di Hi Happy Campers!

As some of you are aware last night I checked our Erridgefarm booking request; I was met with heartache and pain. But I stood strong and found another awesome looking campsite (www.parkfarmcamping.co.uk) and this morning they accepted our booking. Warts and all.

Although their policy is 2 nights minimum over a weekend period, because we’re so awesome and I bigged us up so much they’re happy for one/two/three nighters. Actually I didn’t have to all that much they’re pretty cool so far.

Because we’re a group of an indeterminate size we’ll be expected to pay a £10 deposit per person, which will be returned when we behave and clean up after ourselves. It’s a small, returnable price to pay, but we should be fine. They have shower and toilet blocks and a place to wash our utensils. And for the fishing lovers I believe there is a place for you to fish for free. We’re allowed open fires as well; which is awesome because Grim’s brother has a butt load of logs sitting in the garden that we can burn. Of course getting it there might be a different kettle of fish but we will try!

As regards music; nothing loud or amplified, so anything acoustic is cool but no drumming circles! Tongue

The cost per night per person is £8. So it would be £28 per person for the 3 night weekend (£10 of which will get returned). We’re allowed guests on site until 6pm so those day trippers will be fine to come along, but you’ll have to leave your car in the car park.

Ok so that’s the camp site – what we really need to sort is who is coming, what nights, carpools and tent shares. Argos is pretty cool for camping necessities as is Tesco’s.

And speaking of in this Camping Newsgoose Special here’s a list of thing we need to consider/take as a group, and things you’ll need to arrange for yourself. Last year we spilt the BBQ’s to the southerners and Charcoal to the northerners, but we’ll sort the fine details when we have a vent up.

As a group; Tents, BBQ’s, Charcoal, windbreak, logs, washing up bowls (I’m sure we can share), pump for air mattress, grill, bat & ball & other entertainment type things.

As a person; food, drink, warm clothes, blanket (optional but we found it useful), sleeping bag, roll mat/air mattress, pillows, torches & matches, crockery (bowl/plate/cup), utensils (knife, fork, spoon, spatula, tongs), chair, marshmallows & sticks, book, personal hygiene products, toilet roll!

I’m sure there is more but that’s all I got. We tend to man camp me and grim (tent, sleeping bags, mattress & BBQ essentials) so if I’ve forgotten anything, it’s not my bad!

I propose we get together June 8th about 21.00 realm time on vent so we can talk about tent shares, car pools and the such like. If anyone wants to come but can’t make the meet, then poke me in game and I’ll put your bit forward.

Unlike last year there won’t be t-shirts BUT if it can be done I will be looking at doing baseball caps. But I am only thinking about it at the moment.

Stupid thing wouldn't let me

Stupid thing wouldn't let me paste the words into the article, or let me type into the article at all. Pfft.

Wooo Love it. I'm in!

it'd be £34 (£10 returnable)

it'd be £34 (£10 returnable) per person for 3 nights btw, not 28 Tongue

An the other camp site is fully booked for June/July so we had to change to somewhere better Tongue

Count me in as a day guest!

Count me in as a day guest! I'm in Kent so bodiam isn't that far...I don't think...will the plans be put on the site after they have been made on the 8th? I've got an operation booked for the 9th so I wont be able to listen in as I won't be near a pc.

Ok the vent camp meeting

Ok the vent camp meeting didn't go so well owing to 1 person forgetting, other people unable to make the night but not saying anything till Tuesday, 1 still unsure and the other 2 mid raid. Alas things did not go so well. New plan;

We (the southerner people) will sort ourselves (me, Grim, terra, grover, aradia, menhit, issy, fuery, plus ones and doof) I'll tack up a list of how many slepeing area's we have free and release our mobile to anyone who wants a lift from the nearest trainstation. Other then that you're on your own!

Any further north (Hua, Shell eg) might need to arrange something between them regarding lifts/tents if we're full.

Day trippers are more then welcome to turn up and pull out a camping stool and join in the day's activites. The dates (again) are the 15th, 16th and 17th of July (Friday, Saturday and Sunday Nights) at the camp linked in the website (www.parkfarmcamping.co.uk).

Oh crap. *holds hand up at

Oh crap. *holds hand up at forgetting*. This weeks a been a bit mental. Mum had an accident on monday where she swan dived the pavement and had to go to A&E having cut open her chin, partially severed her ring finger, bashed up her knee and posible broken her nose and wrist (awaiting fracture clinic apointment). Thus my mind has been someone elsewhere this week. Maybe we can talk tomorrow when we're at theatre volly?

WOW! Ouch send your mum my

WOW! Ouch send your mum my love and I hope she is ok!

Gonna set a date, probably for next thursday for the lot of us to vent up / meet up / possibly whilst doing FS to organise the whats and where's

I may or may not be able to

I may or may not be able to afford a really long coach trip to London, so if anyone is coming from near there feel free to offer me a lift Tongue

National express? I think

National express? I think theres one that comes all the way into brighton, let me have a look see and get back to you.
Plus LOVE THE TIMER AT THE TOP!

EDIT - checked it from Durham (i think thats near you) about £49.60. Would recommend if you're doing that to come a day early and doss at ours. Roughly a 10hr Journey. One leave Durham at 12.12 (midnight) on the 15th to get to brighotn at 9.20am. at least you'd slepe away the boring trip. Fingers crossed for Hua's car?
