DC Universe Online
As we all know, there's been a crap ton of games latly trying to copy what WoW has.
I'll admit i've tried most of them out too, just to have a look see. So far Lord of the Rings online is the only one that actually had a subscription from me.
But just from this trailer, i know i'll be trying out DC universe online
I've been told that's the opening cinematic to the game.
Hell, it's got me wanting to play it right now. Even though it hasn't shown any of the ingame graphics.
So far, i know you get to make a character who is either part of the Legion of Doom or or the Justice League.
So here's a warning, i may be off wow for a few weeks when this mofo gets released
.
As someone who once had seven
As someone who once had seven Star Wars Galaxies accounts, two of which were Station passes, (yes I was that obsessive) I would say be careful where SOE is concerned.
With the station pass I was able to play Star Wars Galaxies, Everquest 2, Vanguard, Matrix Online, Vanguard, Pirates of the Burning Seas and Planetside, none of which are now on my PC's after finding them either half built (Vanguard), bug ridden (take your pick), dead/cancelled (Matrix and Planetside) or suffering from a change in direction that went against the player base and earlier developer promises (SWG and its New Game Experience and Everquest 2 with its online shop).
I really hope DC Universe is a good game as it's such a great IP and they have a number of talented artists and voice actors involved so the potential is there.
This game, along with The Agency, is SOE's chance to turn the corner and learn their lessons; DC Universe has had a conveyor belt of lead developers (which is slightly worrying) however the development team working on it has been moved under the main Sony gaming umbrella so should be held to higher standards - also with a dual release for PS3 as well as the PC I dont think they will be able to get away with as much as the console gamers will rip them apart.
As with most MMOs its normally best to either get into beta or to give it a month after release to see if they delivered what they originally promised.
