Hot town, Summer in the city

After a long absence of utter nonsense both on the website and ingame, I found it was about time to finally write another piece.

As the summer is nearing it’s end, well technically not, but it is for me, the lure of gaming is coming back.
Yes it’s true, this summer I actually managed to stay away from my computer for more than a month and a half, good gracious me, tis an outrage!
Great weather, the ladies parading in… what can only be described as loincloths, it’s the season I like the most and thus the one I can hardly push myself to sit behind a computer and play a game.
Take in account that I actually got my eye set on a beautiful creature of the female persuasion and you can understand, behind a computer desk is not the place I spend a lot of time.

Wake up, work, eat, pub, not necessarily in that order, it became my “way of life” the past few weeks.

A computer that puffs more than a steam locomotive to get started, world of warcraft that anxiously needs it’s Cataclysm update, it’s all things that count towards “staying outdoors” atm.

Still, a 5 day trip to Edinburgh in only two weeks time will be a perfect ending of a summer filled with great memories. In fact it’s been years since I’ve had such great fun, and to be honest, memorable quotes to tell.

There is for example:

Derby Day

To give a short explanation. I’ve been a football fan all my life, in fact before I could speak and thus object to the clownesque outfits I had to wear,  there were many photographs in circulation of me in red and white scarves, hats and shirts.
Now then, imagine that my team, Royal Antwerp FC, a second division team for the past decade or so, plays a pre-season “friendly” against their big rivals, Germinal Beerschot, a first division team that was sure to outplay us on every front.
Now being inside the stadium 2 hours prior to the game was perhaps not my most well thought out idea. By the time the game started I could hardly see the difference between red & white and purple & white. When I actually managed to see our team score and the whole stand went bonkers I ended up 5 rows below my seat. Result: a small toe that, by the end of the day, was as big as my….. big toe. Bruises on both legs and arms and a torn shirt.
But good god did we party that day after defeating not only a first division team…but our big rivals as well.

WTS: Barbecue

I’ve had more barbecues last month then I’ve had in a lifetime… Roasted meat, beer and some vegetables just to make myself think I’m eating healthy. A lifestyle that would suit me anyday.

Swimming pool

The hot month of july came with a prize…too much sweating makes me want to kill someone. In order not to end up in prison I bought myself a small, children’s inflatable pool. Hilarious sight for those encountering me in a small pool ornated with dolphin’s but hey… cool water, cold beer and cigarette… awesome.

There we go, just to let you all know, I’m neither dead nor forgot you peeps, it’s just…it’s summer baby! Tongue
